ISSUES/PROJECTS:
  
  • ORGANIZATIONS:
1.      Issues ng tambayan, sa kaso ng paggiba ng mga inanay nang mga kubo.

2.     Pailaw sa tambayan paulit-ulit na inahahain sa Dean.

3.      Nag-impose ang Admin sa mga organizations na tuwing magbebenta sa CAL basement kailangang humingi muna sa BCO ng permit to sell merchandise. Hindi lang iyon, may share sa kikitain ng organization ang BCO.

4.      Dahil sa kakulangan sa tambayan para sa mga organizations, isa sa mga plano ng council ang ipagamit ang classrooms sa 5th floor. Hindi naman masyadong nagagamit ang mga classrooms dito at ang mga makikinabang naman ang mga estudyante dito. Ngunit ayaw ipagamit ng Admin ang mga rooms sa 5th floor o kahit isang room lamang, for org use dahil maingay.


  • STUDENT COUNCIL:
1.      Ang pondo para sa council na kinukuha sa student funds (kahati ang USC fund at Philippine Collegian fund) ay hawak ng admin. Hindi tuloy magamit ng student council ang pondo dahil hindi pinuubaya ng admin na basta-basta lamang ito gamitin.  Kaya tuwing may mga proyekto ang council para sa kolehiyo ay inaabono muna ito at pagkatapos binabawi mula sa reimbursement.  Hindi ilalabas ng admin ang student council fund hangga’t walang resibo.

2.      Ang mga IGP (Income Generating Projects) kagaya ng CAL shirt at CAL jacket ay hindi bumebenta. Ang tshirt ay nagkakahalaga na lamang ng P100.00 at ang jacket ay nagkakahalagang P400 (poor quality).

3.      Isa sa mga proyekto ng student council ay ang ipagamit ang locker. Nakakatulong din ito upang magkaroon ng dagdag na pondo ang council para sa mga susunod na mga proyekto. Ngunit sinabi ng Admin na sa CMO (Campus Maintenance Office) daw magpaalam. Ang problema dito ay ang mga nakaimbak na mga locker ay sira-sira na at nangangalawang pa. Kailangan ng pondo para ipaayos ang mga ito at sagot ng council ang pagpapagawa. Walang extra na pondo ang council para ipaayos ang mga locker at pati na rin sa maintenance ng mga ito. Walang labor charge dahil plano ng council na ayusin ang mga ito nang mano-mano upang makatipid.


  • VOCAL
Sa pagconvene ng Voice of CAL (VOCAL). Ang Vice Chairperson ang siyang mamamahala sa pagtitipon at pamumuno sa convention.

  • Freshman Orientation Program (FOP) for June.
1.      Pinag-usapan na mas maganda na dito magpakitang gilas ang mga organizations at magperform/present ang mga performing orgs para mahikayat ang mga freshies (at ibang undergrads) na sumali sa kanila.

2.      Ang C.M Recto ay awtomatikong nakapangalan sa Student Council para sa FOP kaya hindi magagamit ng sinuman org ang C.M Recto sa buwan ng Hunyo. Ang SC ay libreng makakagamit ng C.M Recto isang beses sa isang buwan lamang (ang pribilehiyong ito ay maaring i-pa-waive sa CAL orgs na nais gamitin ang CM Recto).


  • Hiniling rin ng kasalukuyang SC sa admin na maglagay ng mga mesa at upuan sa CAL Atrium (kagaya ng nasa Collge of Science).
  • Inatasan ng admin na ang bawat departamento ng kolehiyo ang responsable sa pagmimintina (maintenance) ng mga classrooms. Ibig sabihin, kapag may nasirang gamit, upuan o lamesa, ang departamento ang siyang sasagot sa pag-aayos.
  • CAL week.
Dapat mahikayat ang mga organisasyon na makilahok sa pagpapalawak at pagbababongga ng CAL week. Maaari sana na walang pasok sa linggong iyon, ngunit masigurado na ang lahat ng CAL students ay makalahok sa programang handog ng CAL SC at CAL orgs.

The DECL Centennial Amelia Lapena Bonifacio Literary Prize
Guidelines
  • a.    The constest is open to bonafide undergraduate students of the University of the Philippines enrolled in the 2nd semester of AY 2010-2011. (The contest is not open to faculty members of the English Department)
  • b.     Authors may submit not more that 2 entries in each category.
  • c.    The entry should not bear the author’s name, nor any other mode of identification. It should bear a pen name instead. This pen name must be submitted in a sealed envelope on the outside of which should be written the category, title of entry and pen name. Inside the envelope should be a slip of paper containing the title of the entry, the real name of the author, the author’s address and telephone number, the author’s college and a photocopy of the Form 5 for the second semester AY 2010-2011.
  • d.    Only unpublished works may be entered.
  • e.    Only works which have not won a prize in another contest may be entered.
  • f.     In the short story and creative nonfiction categories, an entry must not be longer than 20 pages.
  • g.    In the poetry category, an entry must consist of at least 5 poems.
  • h.    In the story for children category, an entry must not be longer than 10 pages.
  • i.      All entries must be written in English and must show a certain degree of mastery of English language.
  • j.      Entries may be on any subject or theme.
  • k.    The author shall retain ownership of the copyright to the award-winning work. However, the sponsor shall have the right to the first publication of the work. Editor designated by the sponsor may edit portions of the work to suit demand of the publication.
  • l.      The prize will be withdrawn from any author found to have plagiarized the winning entry entirely or in part.
  • m.   Entries must be addressed to Dr. Isabelita Reyes, DECL, Faculty Center, UP Diliman and submitted not later than April 28, 2011.
  • n.    All entries should be submitted in four (4) copies including the original. They should be type written or computer-typed, double-spaced, on refular sized (8 ½ x 11 inches) bond paper, with one-inch margin on all sides.
  • o.    The Board of Judges shall have the discretion not to award any prize of in its judgment no meritorious entry has been submitted.
  • p.    The sponsor has the sole right to designate the persons who shall constitute the Boards of judges in each of the categories.
  • q.    The names of the winner and the names of the Board of Judges shall be announced on may 21, 2011, and awarded on May 28.
  • r.     All parties submitting entries are deemed to have accepted the rules of the contest, and agree to abide thereby.
